In an effort to strengthen its immunology pipeline and expand its presence in autoimmune diseases, Vertex Pharmaceuticals has entered into a collaboration agreement with AbCellera Biologics to discover and develop multispecific T-cell engagers (TCEs) for autoimmune diseases and other conditions. Under the agreement, Vertex will gain access to AbCellera’s proprietary TCE platform, designed to generate next generation multispecific antibodies capable of selectively redirecting immune responses. The collaboration underscores growing pharmaceutical interest in expanding TCE applications beyond oncology, as companies pursue innovative therapeutic strategies for autoimmune disorders requiring innovation.
