Abstract
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a chronic and progressive genetic disease of the mucus glands, which primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. While disease management strategies have improved the quality of life of CF patients, and also have significantly increased their life spans, there is still an overwhelming need for therapies that go further towards a cure for this fatal disease.
