Abstract
Schizophrenia is the most common severe mental disorder. This psychotic illness can be characterised by either positive symptoms (such as delusions) and negative symptoms (such as tiredness and loss of concentration). The article discusses current treatments for the disease (typical/conventional antipsychotics and atypical antipsychotics), deal making trends, the future of atypical antipsychotics, and the discovery and development of novel antipsychotics.
