Deal Making Review: 2000-2005, with Projections for 2006

Abstract
Now that we have passed the midpoint of the current decade, it seems the perfect opportunity, using data from PharmaDeals#174; Agreements, to review the last 6 years of deal making, looking for evidence of broad trends in the numbers of deals being made, the types of deal that prevail and the status of products that most commonly form the focus of a transaction. We take the opportunity also to look back on some of the deals that stand out from the rest in terms of their large financial potential and, based on the half-year data for 2006, look forward and make some projections for the current year.
