Abstract

To expand its marketed and pipeline product portfolio, Alcon entered into an agreement to acquire the rights to two products, Durezol™ (difluprednate ophthalmic emulsion) and Zirgan™ (ganiciclovir ophthalmic gel) from Sirion Therapeutics. Durezol treats inflammation and pain after eye surgery and Zirgan is an antiviral for acute herpetic keratitis (corneal ulcers). The deal also included Zyclorin (cyclosporine) an investigational drug for dry eye.
