Abstract
In order to reinforce its leadership in rare diseases, Servier has agreed to acquire the muscular dystrophy business of Edgewise Therapeutics in a transaction worth approximately US$2.65 B. The deal provides Servier access to Edgewise’s lead asset, sevasemten, which is an investigational orally administered first-in class fast skeletal myosin inhibitor designed to preserve and protect unstable muscle against contraction-induced damage in individuals living with rare muscular dystrophy. This acquisition enhances Servier’s rare neurology pipeline, reinforcing its commitment to advancing innovative, targeted therapies for patients living with rare neuromuscular disorders.
