Ayush Saxena
Abstract
To strengthen its immunology portfolio, Argenx has agreed to acquire Forte Biosciences for approximately US$2.2 B. The acquisition gives Argenx access to FB102, Forte Biosciences’ lead anti-CD122 monoclonal antibody candidate, which has shown promising early clinical results in vitiligo and coeliac disease. Positive Phase Ib data was a key driver of the transaction, providing Argenx with a differentiated and clinically validated immunology asset with potential across multiple autoimmune diseases. The deal also builds on Argenx’s prior strategic investment in Forte and supports its long-term growth and pipeline diversification strategy.
