Eli Lilly has entered into a number of interesting agreements to reduce costs and increase productivity – one of which is with Covance. The pharmaceutical industry is increasingly outsourcing key functions to reduce costs and speed up drug development times and companies like Aventis and Amgen have both made similar moves with Quintiles in the past.
