Trabectedin (Yondelis®, ecteinascidin-743, ET-743) is an alkaloid derived from the Caribbean marine sea squirt, Ecteinascidia turbinata. The compound inhibits both DNA synthesis and mitosis, and appears to act by interfering with the nucleotide excision DNA repair pathways of cancer cells.
