Abstract


The search for academic innovation has been complemented by an evolving commercial awareness among research-driven academic institutions. The thinking of academia and industry is converging onto the same wavelength of funding and novel innovation. However, it is important that academic institutions do not lose sight to propagate scientific knowledge for the good of all. Concomitantly, pharma companies need to look at the conditions that make academia and spin-offs ripe for innovation.
