Ampligen® is a mismatched double-stranded ribonucleic acid (dsRNA), which acts as an immunomodulator and an antiviral. The drug was co-invented by William A Carter, currently the CEO of Hemispherx Biopharma (which, until 1995, had been HEM Pharmaceuticals).
