Business Review Editor
Abstract
Migraine is characterized by a sharp pulsating pain on one side of the head, which can be accompanied by nausea, stiff neck, dizziness and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. Prevalance of this debilitating condition is between 10 and 15% in US and Europe as there is no cure for migraines. The theory, termed “vascular theory” states that the cause of migraines is the problem with the blood vessels supplying the meninges of the brain’s surface. This article features the recent theories attributing to the cause of migraines and available current treatments for alleviating symptoms of migraine.
