Abstract
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) is a viral infection characterized by high fever, headache, dry cough, breathing difficulties and muscle stiffness. SARS virus has an incubation period of 2-10 days. There is currently no reliable diagnostic test or effective treatment for SARS. This article discusses the various research collaborations for developing agents for treating SARS virus which are encouraged by government support and financing and the companies that are involved in the clinical development of agents for treating this disease.
