Abstract
This article focuses on the deal making strategies employed by pharmaceutical fine chemical (PFC) companies to depart from the low profit areas of basic manufacture and to provide a strategic fit with big pharmaceutical clients. The article describes about mergers, high value acquisitions, divestments and R&D partnerships taking place in the PFC industry to combat instability and emphasizes the need for a strong relationship between fine chemical and pharmaceutical companies to maximize returns for both industries.
